Etat d'Urgence is an annual festival that operates as a refugee camp for the homeless population of downtown Montreal. In 2007, I was invited to design a game that would aid in the notion of social cohesion amongst visitors to the festival.

I responded by building the Mini-bowl Trans-formodrome: a contained site designed for playing bowling games like bocce or petanque. The playing surface measured 10 x 30 feet and was comprised of modular components, which could be rearranged by the game's participants.

Over the five days of the festival, participants of all ages gathered to help design the course and to play the game, which was referred to by many festival goers as Mini-Petanque Extreme!!!
